I think you probably use Netflix a lot using the smartphone in your hand. However, the frustration that comes from the small screen can also hinder immersion in the movie. So this time, I would like to share three ways to connect to Netflix TV.

Check whether your TV supports the Netflix app
The best thing to do is to launch the Netflix app on your TV. Smart TVs often have the Netflix app installed by default. Even if you don’t see it, you can install Netflix by downloading the app. However, if your TV does not support Netflix, you have no choice but to choose another method.

Smart device -> TV output

If you have a non-smart TV, you cannot receive Netflix or use wireless mirroring (screen sharing) on your smartphone. However, if you connect other smart devices to your TV, you can also use Netflix and other streaming services on your TV.

First, you need to check whether there is an HDMI or DP input terminal on the back of the TV. In other words, you can watch Netflix through the TV’s external input function.
If your TV has an input terminal, there are three ways to proceed: wired connection to a smartphone, wired connection to a PC, or connection to a set-top box or Chrome Cast. To do that, you’ll need some investment, right?

1. Share your smartphone screen
For example, if your TV has an HDMI port and the smartphone you use is C-type, you can purchase a USB C to HDMI cable. After connecting, select the external input HDMI on the TV to view the smartphone screen on the TV. Now, if you watch Netflix on your smartphone, you’ll see the same thing on your TV, right?

2. PC screen sharing (including laptops)

There is also a way to connect the PC graphics output terminal to a TV. By sharing your PC screen to your TV, you can easily watch not only Netflix but also received movie files on your TV. If the graphics card output terminal is HDMI, you can purchase an HDMI to HDMI cable and connect it. In this way, you can purchase a cable that suits you, such as HDMI to HDMI, HDMI to DP, or hdmi to dvi, according to the output terminal and input terminal.
Once you have connected the TV and PC, right-click on the PC desktop -> Display Settings -> Multiple Displays -> Duplicate or Extend Displays. You can think of display duplication as a function that shows the PC screen as it is, and display expansion as creating a new screen that matches the TV.

For example, if you run Netflix after expanding the display and swipe left or right, the PC screen will remain the same and you can watch Netflix on the TV. If you share your screen using your smartphone or PC, you can enjoy Netflix on the big screen, right? However, I think the above two methods are bound to be inconvenient if used frequently.

3. Install Netflix-supported set-top box/Chrome Cast
The best way is to install a set-top box or Chromecast that supports Netflix. The set-top box can be operated with a separate remote control, and Chrome Cast can be operated using a smartphone as a remote control. I’ve used both, but the set-top box is the most convenient. If you purchase this product, you can transform it into a smart TV that allows you to install and use various apps, even if it is not a smart TV. (Chrome Cast 3rd generation can be purchased for about 50,000 won, and set-top boxes can be purchased for less than 100,000 won)

If you have difficulty connecting your PC or smartphone to the TV every time, we recommend purchasing and using a set-top box or Chrome Cast. We have looked at three ways to connect Netflix to TV.
