Not long ago, I had a gathering with friends to celebrate the New Year. While chatting while eating, we also ordered alcohol, but I was embarrassed because I forgot that if even one person at the table orders alcohol, everyone at the table must have their ID card checked, and I didn’t bring my wallet. This is because recently, as people have been using the ‘Pay’ service on their mobile phones, leaving their wallets behind has become much more frequent.
It’s cumbersome to carry around a wallet, so is there a way? While looking around the Government 24 app, I found out that there is a mobile verification service for resident registration cards.

The resident registration card mobile verification service is a service that allows you to conveniently check your resident registration card on a mobile device. It is said that anyone over the age of 17 who already holds a resident registration card can issue one and use it through the Government 24 app.

The issuing method is also very easy. First, you can install the Government 24 app through the mobile store and then click the Resident Registration Card Mobile Verification Service tab to easily obtain a mobile resident registration card.
You must first install the Government 24 app through the store.
If you first install the Government 24 app through the store, you can immediately check the service on the main screen.
Unlike card-type resident registration cards, mobile resident registration cards generate a QR code, so you can scan the code on a reader, and by pressing the detailed information button, you can check your resident registration number, address, and issuance information.
I also issued a mobile resident registration card because I thought I would use it often. First, agree to the terms and conditions of the resident registration card mobile verification service and then verify your identity.

Finally, all steps are completed by setting a password to be used in the resident registration card mobile verification service. I was surprised at how quick and easy the method was than I expected. It was nice to be able to quickly save my ID on my phone to the point where I regret not knowing about it. Once you receive your mobile resident registration card, you can see the following screen.
The photo is the exact photo set at the time of issuing the physical resident registration card. In addition, you can view the name, date of birth, address entered only by city, county, or district, and the QR code.

When viewing the detailed screen from the basic screen, you must re-verify your identity using the six-digit password or biometric authentication you entered when applying for the service. It was amazing to be able to check all the information contained in my resident registration card on the details screen, and I thought that I could actively use it when I need my resident registration card in my daily life.

So when is QR code used? It is said that QR codes are used when verifying the authenticity of a resident registration card. You can run the ‘Verify the authenticity of your resident registration card (QR code)’ menu in the Government 24 app. Please note that the QR code captured at this time does not contain personal information, so you can stop worrying about it being leaked.
Any smart device equipped with a USIM from a mobile carrier can be registered, but only one device in your name can be registered, so please keep this in mind as well!

I happened to have to issue a certificate of attendance, so I visited the community center and applied for a civil complaint document. When checking my ID, I presented my mobile resident registration card, and was able to confirm that I could verify my identity in the same way as I had previously verified my identity with my resident registration card.
