What is KEPCO Residential Energy Cashback?

KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corporation) provides cashback based on the rate at which electricity usage is reduced.

This cashback is calculated every month and is immediately reflected in the next month’s electricity bill. This can be said to be a representative ESG policy that can reduce electricity bills and greenhouse gas emissions, right?

Electricity bills went up a lot last year. Due to KEPCO’s deficit, it appears that holiday electricity bills will continue to rise. I need to make good use of my energy cashback.

Energy Cashback Target

This applies to all customers who use residential (household) electricity.

Cashback is calculated from the month including the application date. It applies to the period from the applicant’s electricity bill calculation date, not from the 1st to the last day of the calendar. What are you saying?

What if the meter reading date is the 20th of every month?

The electricity bill calculation period for February is from January 20th to February 19th, and if you apply during that period, cashback will be calculated starting from February’s electricity usage. You understand, right?

2024 Energy Cashback Payment Standard

(Applies from January)

Cashback payment standards have changed from January 2024.

If you save more than 3% compared to the average of the same month in the previous two years, 30 to 100 won per 1kWh will be paid depending on the savings rate section. (However, the savings rate is limited to 30%.)

However, what if the applicant’s address changes due to moving, etc.?

You must reapply for Energy Cashback based on your changed resident registration address. Cashback calculated at your previous address will be excluded from payment.
