Road Traffic Authority E-Learning Center Senior Driver Education
If you are 65 years of age or older, you must complete the Senior Driver Traffic Safety Education to renew your driver’s license for road safety. In addition, if you are over 75 years of age, these driver license renewal requirements will be strengthened. Traffic safety education for elderly drivers is conducted at the Road Traffic Authority E-Learning Center and educates cognitive function tests necessary for elderly drivers.
How to apply for senior driver training
Senior driver education can be completed online after application on the Road Traffic Authority e-learning center website, and senior driver education and safety education over the age of 75 can be applied online or through reservation at the training center.
Go to Road Traffic Authority website
1) Access the Korea Road Traffic Authority website and register as a member on the right side.
Authentication (mobile phone, I-PIN, card authentication, etc.) is required when registering as a member
2) If you have completed authentication, enter your name, date of birth, gender, ID, password, and mobile phone number, click the register button, and log in with your ID and password.
3) Access the homepage and click [Elderly Driver Education]. In addition, you can apply for education related to driving duties such as school bus education, emergency vehicle education, traffic safety teacher education, and safe driving certification education as well as elderly driver education on the Korea Road Traffic Authority education and safety education website.
4) Click on Senior Driver Education (Apply) to see the screen below. If you scroll down, there is a [Apply] button. Afterwards, the next screen will appear. After entering the resident registration number, which is additional information, click the [Course Registration] button.
5) When course registration is complete, you can see the learning status in My Classroom, and you can learn through entering the classroom.
It consists of a total of 4 sessions, and you must study all sessions to complete the training.

1) Matters related to aging and safe driving
2) Matters related to drugs and driving
3) Matters related to coping with cognitive ability such as memory and judgment ability
4) Matters concerning understanding of traffic-related laws and regulations
For traffic safety driving for elderly drivers, there are recommended traffic safety education for seniors aged 65 and older and traffic safety education compulsory courses for senior drivers aged 75 and older. If you complete traffic safety education, you can get a discount on car insurance premiums, so it’s a good idea to complete the education and contact your insurance company.
