There are two standards for closed days. For example, Thanksgiving Day is the last Thursday of November, and the last Friday of November is Black Friday. ① The date may not be fixed, and New Year’s Day (January 1st) and Independence Day (July 4th) ) And there are cases where the date is specifically designated as ②, such as Christmas (December 25th).
In the latter case, if the three days are weekends, an alternative holiday is given. If it is a Saturday, the preceding Friday becomes a substitute holiday, and if Sunday is a public holiday, the next day, Monday, becomes a substitute holiday.
However, even if the early closing date overlaps with a public holiday or substitute holiday, it will not be replaced separately. So this year, Christmas Eve in 2023 falls on Sunday, but since it is a holiday anyway, it will just pass by. Since it does not close early, it is at least a little better from an investor’s perspective.

2024 U.S. daylight saving time application date
The United States is one of the countries that applies daylight saving time. Daylight saving time or Daylight saving time is sometimes abbreviated as DST or DT.
Daylight saving time in the United States begins every year on the second Sunday of March and ends on the first Monday of November. So, when trading American stocks in Korea, the opening hours for American stocks are pushed back and forth by one hour.
The 2024 U.S. Daylight Savings Time effective date is from 2:00 AM on Sunday, March 10, 2024 to 2:00 AM on Sunday, November 3, 2024.
