○ Information on issuing a criminal record certificate at the counter
1. Issuance target
Only the person who needs the certificate can apply (Korean citizens or foreigners with a history of staying in Korea can apply in person)
※ According to Korean law, those under the age of 14 are considered criminal minors and have no criminal record
2. Basic documents
• Application form (Appendix 1-1, for diplomatic missions) Handwritten by the person
• 1 photo of the upper body with hair loss within the past 6 months (3×4cm)
• Original passport

• Foreigners: Alien registration certificate or copy of alien registration card
• Korean nationals without resident registration number (1,2,3,4000000) – Basic certificate
※ Those who immigrated overseas before 1975 (Revised Resident Registration Act) or those who have not registered as residents
• Under 19 years of age: Submit basic certificate ※ Confirmation of parent, legal representative, or guardian certificate (submission not required)
3. Application method and processing procedure
• The applicant visits the overseas mission in person and applies
• After receiving the application documents, the civil complaint application form is transmitted to the National Police Agency via electronic means
• After the National Police Agency completes the background investigation (approximately 14 days), it is reported to the overseas mission, and the overseas mission issues the certificate immediately after the report
※ If the information in the application documents is If insufficient or contains errors, issuance may be denied or delayed.
