전국민 마음투자 지원사업 대상Starting from the 1st of this month, the ‘National Mind Investment Support Project’ will be implemented in earnest.
The ‘Youth Mental Health Support Project’ has been implemented for young people aged 19 to 34 from May 2022, and it will be expanded so that all citizens across the country can receive professional psychological counseling services.
Those eligible for the support project are provided with access to professional psychological counseling.
Those eligible for support are: ▲ Those who have been issued a referral letter indicating the need for psychological counseling from a mental health welfare center, university counseling center, youth counseling and welfare center, Wee Center/Wee class, etc. ▲ Those who have been issued a medical certificate or opinion stating the need for psychological counseling from a mental health institution, etc. ▲People confirmed to have moderate or higher level of depression (10 or more points on the depression screening test (PHQ-9)) in the national health checkup ▲Young people preparing for independence and children receiving extended protection ▲People referred through a pilot project linking mental health care at local clinics .
Psychological counseling services are provided by nationally qualified mental health specialist level 1 and 2, youth counselor level 1 and 2, professional counselor level 1 and 2, clinical psychologist level 1 qualification holders and privately qualified clinical psychologists (Korean Psychological Association). It is provided by experts who are certified as counseling psychologists level 1 and 2 (Korean Counseling Psychology Association/Korea Psychological Association) and professional counselor levels 1 and 2 (Korean Counseling Association).
Service types are classified into level 1 and level 2 depending on the expertise and capabilities of the personnel providing them. The price of the service is 80,000 won per time for the first level type and 70,000 won for the second level type, and the out-of-pocket cost is charged differently depending on the income level, up to 30%. However, young people preparing for independence and children receiving extended protection are exempt from out-of-pocket expenses.
Psychological counseling services are provided by visiting the administrative welfare center in the town, village or village with the required documents for each subject, such as a request form issued by the Mental Health Welfare Center, University Counseling Center, Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, Wee Center/Wee Class, or mental health institution, and a notification of the results of the national general health checkup. Just select the service type and submit the application.
If you are determined and notified as a support recipient by the city/county/district (public health center), a voucher will be issued within 10 days of application to receive 8 sessions of 1:1 face-to-face professional psychological counseling services for at least 50 minutes each.
Those eligible for support can apply for psychological counseling services by selecting a service provider that is convenient to use, regardless of their place of residence. After paying the deductible and receiving psychological counseling, they can pay with a voucher.
The service support period is within 120 days from the voucher issuance date, and you can search for service providers by region at the Social Service e-Voucher Portal (https://www.socialservice.or.kr:444/). To date, 443 places have registered, and cities, counties, and districts (public health centers) are continuing to accept registration and applications for provider organizations.
Starting with 80,000 people in the second half of this year, the goal is to gradually expand to 500,000 people, or 1% of the entire population, by 2027.
