한전 에너지 캐시백 신청 KEPCO’s energy cashback for housing exceeded 200,000 participating households in 11 days of application – Electric Power

한전 에너지 캐시백 신청Concerns about an increase in cooling costs due to the hot and humid weather forecast this summer and an increase in electricity rates last month have raised interest in energy conservation.
An official from KEPCO explained that the increase in the unit price of cashback (30 won/kWh → 30 won to 100 won/kWh) from the second half seems to be leading to high participation.
Energy Cashback, which was piloted from 2022, had cumulative participation of 52,490 households until the first half of this year, but the number of new participants exceeded 200,000 households 11 days after online applications began on June 7 for implementation in the second half of this year.
This is because if you sign up for Energy Cashback and reduce your electricity consumption by more than 10%, your electricity bill will actually be lower than last year.
If a household of four with an average electricity consumption of 427kWh last summer (July-August) reduced their usage by 10%, they would save KRW 15,080 (KRW 3,900 in cash back + KRW 11,180 in reduced electricity consumption) As a result, the final rate is 65,450 won, which is about 1,000 won less than last year’s electricity rate of 66,690 won per month.
KEPCO urged customers who have not yet applied to apply with active interest, as customers who applied by August 31 can also receive cashback deductions from their bills retroactively from July.
From September application, it will be applied from the month in which the application date falls.
In June, you can only apply online (you can scan the QR code included in the electricity bill you receive in June, search for ‘KEPCO Energy Cashback’ on the portal site Naver, etc., and apply online by accessing the mobile app KEPCO:ON) , During July, you can visit the nearest KEPCO office to apply, and the specific application period will be announced separately.
