Today, I would like to recommend a Japanese movie on Netflix. No spoilers, rest assured! So let’s get started.
It is a reconstructed ‘Sugamo Child Neglect Incident’ that actually happened in Japan in 1988 that no one knows. Yuya Yagira, who played the lead role, won the Best Actor Award at the Cannes International Film Festival at the age of 14, the youngest. The true story is about a mother neglecting all four children without registering their births. Watching a movie is so realistic, I think it would be more accurate to describe it as melting rather than immersing in it. You can see the child in reality that you normally see without thinking of ‘child actor’ or ‘acting’ anymore.
The main character, Furuka, an unknown manga artist, has the ability to turn back time and go back to the past. Travel back 18 years to find the real culprit. He is convinced that he has the key to unlocking the clues to the incident that happened when he was in the 5th grade of elementary school. It is based on the manga of the same name, and has also been made into animations and movies. Each episode has a running time of about 25 minutes and consists of 12 episodes.
Takatoshi (Souta Fukushi), who attends an art college in Kyoto, falls in love with Emi (Nana Komatsu) at first sight on the train to the university. I muster up the courage to promise to see her again, but she suddenly cries. Holding hands for the first time, calling each other by name for the first time, Emmy cries every time there is a first time like this. I find this strange, but Takatoshi and her love grow deeper. Later, on the day of their first kiss, he finds out about her secret that is hard to imagine. It’s a really lovely and sad romance movie.
I filmed an autobiographical novel about Lily Frankie’s longing for her mother, who appeared as her husband in the movie ‘A Family’. Okan, the mother, raises her son Boku (Odagiri Joe) alone at home. After that, he grew up and moved to Tokyo to become an art student. One day while working to pay off her debt after graduation, she heard the news that her mother had been hospitalized for cancer. Tokyo Tower is a film that won Best Picture at the 31st Japan Academy. What you need to know before you watch it, it’s a sad warning.
Ju-on: House of Curse is a 6-episode Netflix original drama based on the famous Ju-on series starring Toshio. It’s true that it’s hard to find a horror movie with a high rating. However, I personally think Ju-on: House of Curse is 4.5 out of 5 stars. Show the pinnacle of Japanese horror. Based on the bubble economic situation and true events of the 1980s, it explains in detail why the vengeful spirit appeared and why the house was cursed. It has a running time of about 30 minutes per side and consists of 6 episodes. After seeing it all, I felt that it was made with great care and sincerity.
