How to report the loss of a driver’s license
The driver’s license is another ID card that can be used on behalf of the resident registration card, so if you lose it, you must report it quickly to prevent secondary damage.
You can report the loss of your driver’s license at nearby community centers, police stations, and driver’s license test centers, but you must bring your resident registration card or passport to register.
If you cannot visit administrative agencies such as community centers, police stations, or police stations, you can report your loss online through the Korea Transportation Safety Authority.
If you report a loss through the Korea Transportation Safety Authority, you can also apply for reissuance of your driver’s license.

* Advantage of applying for reissuance of an online driver’s license – You can apply for reissuance without visiting a police station or a driver’s license test site
*Disadvantages of applying for reissuance of an online driver’s license – The advantage is that you don’t have to visit the department to report the loss, but it takes at least three weeks to apply for reissuance, and you have to go to a nearby police station or driver’s test site to find your driver’s license

If you lose your driver’s license, if the police station is close to you, you can visit the police station and report the loss, but if the purpose is to reissue it, it takes three weeks, the same as an online application.
Application for re-issuance of a driver’s license at a driving test site
If you visit the driver’s license test site in person, it has the advantage of being less cumbersome because not only the loss report but also the re-issuance are handled on the same day. The disadvantage is that if the distance is far, it may take time to travel, and the secretion may have a waiting time if registered in time.
In my case, the Gangnam driver’s license test site is 10 minutes away, so I could go to the morning job and get it reissued in 30 minutes.
Applications for re-issuance of a driver’s license
When applying for reissuance of a driver’s license, all you need is your ID and the fee you need for reissuance, and you don’t need a picture.
How to apply for reissuance of a license at a driving test site
As I mentioned earlier, I applied for reissuance at the Gangnam driver’s license test site without applying online because the driver’s license test site is nearby.
I was able to get reissued quickly because it wasn’t so crowded at the morning visit.
I’m applying for reissuance because I lost my driver’s license, so I checked the reason for the application with a guitar. You can also check the box and fill out the necessary information.
When applying for reissuance of a driver’s license, you don’t need a separate photo because you use the photo registered in the computer. However, if you need to change the photo, you can change it by submitting it.
I was able to reissue my new driver’s license a little over 10 minutes after receiving the document.
It was convenient to be able to report the loss of a driver’s license and reissue it in one place.

How to reissue a driver’s license and report a loss online
If you apply for reissuance of your driver’s license online, type it in the search box as shown in the figure above, and check the Road Traffic Authority Safety Driving Complaint website as shown in the figure and click on it to connect to the next step.
If you go to the integrated civil petition board for safe driving, you will see the “Reissuance of Losses, etc.” window as shown in the picture above, so please click it.
Now, as shown in the picture above, simply click on the instructions to report and reissue the loss. For your information, you must bring your ID to apply for both the loss report and reissue.
If you don’t have an ID card, you can replace it with a passport or a civil service card, so please refer to the picture above for more details.
A fee of 10,000 won is required to reissue the driver’s license. If you apply for an additional mobile driver’s license, an additional 15,000 won will be added.
