The world’s first large and magnificent sculpture park was established in Korea. This sculpture park honestly depicts the lives of great people through sculptures.

Among the ten great disciples of Sakyamuni, the chief disciple is ‘Kasyapa (迦葉尊者)’. The famous ‘Yeomhwamiso (拈華微笑)’ in which the Buddha smiled when he was touched by a lotus flower is none other than Kasyapa.
Kasyapa Temple, located below the peak of Kasyapa Mountain, is said to represent the teachings of Mahayana Buddhism from the name of the mountain and the temple.

Gamgok Main Church was established in 1896 and has a history of over 100 years. The first parish priest, Father Im Camillo, was a member of the Paris Foreign Missions Society. After being ordained in 1893, he entered the country and was assigned to Buenggol, Yeoju, which had a long history as a Catholic village and a seminary, as his first parish the following year in 1894. However, the parish was located at the northernmost end and was a mountainous village, so he was considering moving the parish. While visiting Yeoju on a visit to Janghowon, he saw a palace-like house at the foot of the mountain and intuitively felt that this was the most suitable place for the parish. Immediately, Father Im Camillo prayed, “Virgin Mary, if you give me that palace-like house and mountain as my possession, I will become your humble servant. The Han-Dok Pharmaceutical Museum opened in 1964 as part of a cultural project to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Han-Dok Pharmaceutical Company, and is recorded as the first corporate museum and specialized museum in Korea. The Han-Dok Pharmaceutical Museum, which was expanded and relocated to Eumseong, Chungcheongbuk-do in 1995, stores and exhibits approximately 10,000 medical-related historical materials with high preservation value, including 6 treasures, and is called a treasure trove of Korean medical historical materials, and is visited by more than 10,000 visitors every year.

Haengchi Village, the birthplace of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, is surrounded by Bodeok Mountain on both sides, and is a warm and cozy village with a birthplace, memorial hall, peace land, ancestral graves, shrines, a world map (genealogy) made of stone, a commemorative monument, a pond, etc. It was a thatched-roof house with mud walls, but it was remodeled into a thatched roof during the Saemaul Movement in the 1970s, and was demolished around March 2002. The birthplace was restored in 2010 based on old photographic data.

Sureuisan Natural Recreation Forest is a place visited by many hikers because of its beautiful mountains and beautiful scenery. There are unique geographic features such as the legendary spring, Sangyeo Rock, and Byeongpung Rock, which are related to the tomb of Prime Minister Yangchon Gwon-geun of the Joseon Dynasty, and the view from Byeongpung Rock is refreshing to see the front and back of the mountain. Also, the rhododendrons and azaleas on the mountain ridge are in full bloom, and the oak forest is diverse, allowing you to feel the fresh air and the scent of nature.
