CU is rebranding its own ultra-low-cost delivery service, CU Kiri Delivery, to CU Cheap Delivery on the 13th of this month and is holding a 2+1 delivery event for the first time in the convenience store industry.
CU Cheap Delivery is a convenience store delivery service that utilizes CU’s nationwide logistics network to pick up packages received from CU at the CU store where the customer has designated delivery. It only handles small parcels weighing less than 5kg, and its characteristic is that it has a slightly slower delivery period than general parcel delivery, but its price is lower.
CU has used the name CU Kkiril Express to emphasize delivery between stores, but in line with the latest trends, it changed its brand name to CU Affordable Parcel Delivery to provide customers with higher delivery quality, reasonable prices, and a familiar image.
CU Affordable Parcel Delivery’s price of 2,100 won for parcels weighing over 500g to under 1kg is the cheapest in Korea. The remaining sections are also 1,800 won for parcels weighing under 500g and 2,700 won for parcels weighing over 1kg, which is half the price of general parcel delivery.
In fact, if you look at the usage status of the service by parcel weight last year, parcels weighing under 500g accounted for the largest proportion at 63%, while parcels weighing over 500g to under 1kg accounted for 21%, and parcels weighing over 1kg accounted for 16%, showing that the usage rate for low weights was overwhelmingly high.
CU reflected these customers’ consumption trends and set the lowest fares for the two sections of 500g or less and 1kg or less, which account for 84% of the total, to reduce the burden on consumers.
Along with this service name change, CU will hold the industry’s first CU Affordable Delivery 2+1 event from the 13th of this month to the end of April. The +1 gift event, which was previously applied only to general products, has been expanded to the service area to stabilize living expenses.
If you make a CU Affordable Delivery reservation on the CU commerce app Pocket CU and complete two store receptions, you will automatically receive one free coupon that can be used regardless of weight. Currently, Pocket CU is also holding a 1,800 won uniform price event for all deliveries under 5kg, so the discount is even greater.
For example, if you send 3 5kg parcels with a regular price of 2,700 won, the total will be 8,100 won, but if you apply the uniform price and 2+1 event, you can use it for 3,600 won, which is a 56% discount. You can send the maximum weight of parcels that can be accepted for 1,200 won per parcel.
In addition, a weekend discount promotion is also being held on Saturdays and Sundays. You can receive a 200 won weekend discount coupon exclusively for CU Affordable Parcel Service from Pocket CU twice a day. Another difference is that you can earn up to 2% of the payment amount in CU membership points.
In addition, in order to increase customer accessibility, a CU Affordable Parcel Service reservation window was opened on the Toss app this month. The price is 2,100 won, the lowest price for the same service for 5kg or less regardless of weight, and you can pay with a card registered with Toss Pay. General parcel reservations are scheduled to open additionally in April.

Meanwhile, CU Affordable Parcel Service’s share of total parcels was only 1.8% in 2020, the first year of service implementation, but it has been growing every year, recording 8.2% in 2021 and 15.8% in 2022.
