Frequently Asked Questions about DHL Delivery Tracking
Q. How can I track my cargo? A. You can track your shipment using our website or one of our online portals. Usually, the seller or online store will send you a link to track your shipment.
Q. What is a tracking number/ID?
A. A tracking number or ID is a combination of numbers and/or letters that uniquely identifies your shipment. The ID can be 10 to 39 characters long.
Q. Where can I find my tracking number/ID?
A. Usually, the seller or online store can provide you with a tracking number or ID. If you ordered an item from an online store, the tracking number or ID is usually included in the confirmation email or shipment notification. If not, please contact the seller or online store. Not all shipments have a tracking number/ID.
Q. When can I see the tracking information?
A. You can track your shipment within 24 to 48 hours after you receive the confirmation email from the seller or online store. The reason it takes a while to check the shipment status is because the first shipment status update is when the shipment is handed over to DHL, that is, when the shipment leaves the seller or online store’s fulfillment center.
Q. Why does the status of your shipment remain the same?
A. For most shipments, we only provide the status of the main points, so it may take some time before the new status is displayed. Despite the time gap between shipments, your items are still moving to their destination. Depending on the destination, it may also take some time to arrive at the destination country due to the transit time and distance of the selected service.
Your shipment may be delayed. Delays in transit may be due to events beyond DHL’s control, such as weather conditions, local delays (public holidays, customs clearance or strikes). If you do not receive your shipment within 10 days of the estimated transit time, please contact the seller or online store. The seller or online store may initiate an investigation into the loss as a contractual partner of DHL. Some items may have limited transit status in the origin country and no transit status in the destination country.
Q. Why is my tracking number/ID not working?
A. If your tracking ID is not working, please contact the seller or online store.
Q. When will my shipment arrive? A. When the seller or online store hands over the cargo to DHL, it will be transported according to the selected service. The seller or online store will usually display the transit time on their website. Please note that the transit time may vary depending on the selected product/service and the origin/destination relationship. It may take 2-3 days for nearby countries and up to 20 days for distant countries. Please also note that depending on the selected product/service, the cargo will usually be handed over to the local postal company in that country before being finally transported to the consumer.
Q. Why hasn’t my cargo arrived yet?
A. Please note that the typical transit time may vary depending on the product/service and the origin/destination relationship. It may take 2-3 days for nearby countries and up to 20 days for distant countries. The seller or online store will usually display the estimated transit time on their website. If it exceeds the estimated transit time, unfortunately, there is a delay in the shipment. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Delays in transit may be due to weather conditions, customs clearance, or strikes. If you have not received your cargo within 10 days of the estimated transit time, please contact the seller or online store. As a contractual partner of DHL, the seller or online store can initiate an investigation into the loss.
Q. My shipment is damaged or its contents are missing. What should I do?
A. If your shipment is being shipped by local post, you must submit a damage report to your local post office within 7 days. Send the damage report to the seller or online store. The seller or online store will then file a claim with DHL for the damaged or lost parcel. Please understand that only the seller or online store can file a claim as a contractual partner of DHL.
