In the past, most would have thought of a rental car, but more and more people are using Socar, which does not require a long time rental and can skip complicated procedures. How to use Socar 2
To use Socar, you must first install the smartphone application and sign up. In addition, a driver’s license and payment method must be registered to make a reservation.
Download the Socar app on your smartphone. After that, you can register your driver’s license and payment card. However, you should keep in mind that Socar can be used from the age of 21 or older and from one year of obtaining a driver’s license.
Socar provides “Go to pick up” and “Call here” functions. There is a “go to pick up” function that allows you to set the usage time, select the location and type of vehicle you need, and make a reservation at the nearest Socar zone, and also provide a “call here” function that allows you to call the Socar to the place you want.
When the reservation is completed, the reservation information is sent to KakaoTalk. KakaoTalk messages provide detailed information such as vehicle type, rental time, return time, location, exemption products, and coupons.
You can check the detailed information of the Socar zone where the vehicle is parked in the Socar app. You can easily find the vehicle by turning on the emergency lights or sounding the horn with the smart key in the app. As a caution, you can use the smart key only when the Bluetooth function is turned on.
Before boarding the vehicle, you should carefully check the exterior, interior, oil level, and vehicle condition. If you can use it 10 minutes before the reservation time, you must take a picture of the exterior of the car and upload it before using it to check for any signs of damage. You should check carefully in advance so that there is no unfair situation.
The biggest advantage of Socar is that unlike rental cars, you can use it for as long as you need and pay only for the amount you use. Reservations can be made for a minimum of 30 minutes or in 10-minute increments, and rental fees, insurance premiums, driving fees, and high-pass fees apply. Rental rates vary flexibly depending on conditions such as vehicle type, region/soca zone, day/time, peak season/off-peak season, etc.
The driving fee is charged according to the actual mileage at the time of vehicle return.
It is divided into sections below 30 km, between 31 and 100 km, and over 100 km, and a separate driving fee per km is charged.
The rental fee that must be paid before renting a car is the fee for renting the car, and you can choose the maximum deductible in case of an accident. Premiums vary depending on the copay option.

When renting a Socar car, you must sign up for the vehicle damage waiver product, and you can select the limit of the waiver for each service.
As for the vehicle damage waiver system, the deductible to be paid in the event of an accident is determined according to the waiver product selected when renting Socar. Therefore, even if the vehicle repair cost exceeds the deductible, you only have to pay the deductible according to the product selected, and if the amount to be paid is less than the deductible product selected, the actual cost will be settled.
