Meet Saejae and expand the national territory! Nakdonggang River Bike Path
Gyeongcheondae, which means that even the sky is surprised by the beautiful scenery, is a place where beautiful scenery is drawn among the waterways of the Nakdonggang River. The large and small mountain peaks formed along the stem of Sobaeksan Mountain reach Gyeongcheondae and complete a landscape that is no different from an oriental painting.
The Nakdonggang River Bicycle Path, which meets the Saejae Bicycle Path at Sangpung Bridge in Sangju, climbs to Gyeongcheondae via Hahoe Village and Hwaryongpo, and ends at the estuary of the Nakdong River.
Gyeongcheondae is a place that draws the most beautiful scenery among the waterways of the Nakdonggang River. The large and small mountain peaks formed along the stem of Sobaeksan Mountain reach Gyeongcheondae and complete a landscape that is no different from an oriental painting. The semi-circular reminiscence field spread between sheer rocky cliffs, wide white sandy beaches, and a cozy river flows is the best choice for autumn scenery dyed in golden yellow. Gyeongcheon Island, which was created by depositing the sand of the Nakdonggang River, has a 2km-long bicycle path and a beautifully decorated park, making it a good place to stop and enjoy romance.
Unimaginable scenery was born in the process of breaking through the blockages and connecting the disconnected places so that bicycles can run in a straight line along the Nakdonggang River. The representative section is the 3.6km-long bicycle path that runs under the cliff in front of Kumoh Institute of Technology downstream of Gumibo. When piles are driven into places that are blocked by cliffs and a 1Km-long deck is installed, the precipitous cliffs and winding Nakdonggang River are reborn as an oriental painting, adding to the pleasure of running.
The Nakdonggang Bicycle Road leaves Gaegyeongpo (Gaepo Ferry) in Gaejin-myeon, Goryeong. Gaegyeongpo is where the Tripitaka Koreana from Ganghwa Island was transported by using the Han River and Nakdong River waterway. It is said that the monks carried the Tripitaka on their heads from Gaegyeongpo to Haeinsa Temple in Hapcheon. Until the early 1960s, Gaegyeongpo, where Hwangpo sailing boats departed from Busan brought in salt and salted seafood and exchanged them for grain, was so deep that large ships could pass through it. But now, Gaegyeongpo is so lonely that there is not even a trace of Naruto. The indifferent river flows through Jeongjeonggol, where Ureuk, who watched the destruction of Daegaya sadly plucked the gayageum, and heads toward the South Sea.
Won-ri Village, where Wondong Station on the Gyeongbu Line is located, is famous for taking pictures of trains passing each other in an S curve against the backdrop of the Nakdonggang River in full bloom of plum blossoms. Trains departing from Busan and Seoul meet once or twice a day with Wonri Maehwa Complex in the background. In the spring, when plum blossoms are in full bloom, photographers from all over the country form a long line on a hillside overlooking the Nakdonggang River to capture the moment.
From April 22 to April 28, 2023, my wife and I went through the Andong Dam Certification Center in Dadaepo, Busan, heard the Chungju Dam Certification Center, and rode to Gangbyeon Station in Seoul.
On April 25, it rained drizzly all day from the morning, and since it was a rainy day, ride more carefully and safely.
My shoes were wet from the rain and the wind and it was difficult to ride, but I did not give up and pedaled because it was my first cross-country challenge.
I arrived at the Nakdanbo Certification Center at around 3:40 and looked around, and the window of the certification center opened and a worker greeted me brightly. (I wonder if the older people seemed to be wandering…)
I asked about this and that, and he kindly explained with a smile… Thanks to him, I was so grateful and the journey became warm.
