Issuing a youth ID card is simple!
Regardless of your address, you can apply for a youth ID card by visiting the nearest administrative welfare center that is convenient for you.
You can apply by yourself or by proxy.
When applying as a proxy, you can apply by bringing the agent’s ID card, family relationship certificate, and basic certificate.
You will also need a photo for your youth ID card. One 3 x 4 cm photo (taken within the last 6 months) is required.
You can add transportation card features when applying.
If you use your youth ID card on buses, subways, museums, art galleries, etc., you can get a fee exemption or discount.
A 10% discount is available at Kyobo Bookstore and Youngpoong Bookstore.
If you have lost your youth ID, you can visit a nearby community center to report the loss and receive a reissue.
It is said that issued youth ID cards must not be transferred or lent to others.
Please note that anyone who lends or transfers a youth ID card may be subject to a fine of up to 500,000 won.
